The Return!

The Return!

Hi... it has been a while since a proper update. So that is what this post is all about. Where we have been, where we are going, and some other housekeeping stuff.

First off, if you are still following along with the project, we want to extend a big thanks to you. Development has been taking quite a bit of time, way longer than expected, but it is actually progressing quite smoothly. So we thank you for your patience. We rarely post on social media any progress the last couple years, and frankly that probably won't change, however we DO want to be more consistent with updates, so expect to see regular development updates here as well as other devlogs where we will go over some of the technical aspects of the game, for those interested in game development or just how the game ticks. There are a few already planned so it will be fun!

In all the time we have not posted updates, a lot has been been done and learned and we would  like to share those learning experiences in future dev logs. Not only that but they will serve as a nice set of documentation for most of the game's internal systems that could assist anyone interested in modding. Most of the devlogs will go over finalizing all the core game systems, getting them out of beta limbo. Also will be going over some of the auxiliary systems, like how we will go about creating a domain specific language to increase flexibility and productivity with development. It also is just a nice way to have a piece of history of where the game has been, something that could regrettably have had more care taken in that area in the past.

Beyond that we also want be more open and transparent with how development progress is going, so we have opened a public progress and issue tracker, so even when we don't post to social media for months on end, you can always be in the loop with how development is going! You can check it out here: Google Sheet

Besides that here is a list of the best places to follow to get updates on the game:

Forward Progress

If you peek the progress tracker above, it may look intimidating that the game is not actually all that far along, but it is a bit deceiving as many of those unfulfilled tasks are more for productivity and tooling towards future content. Most of the core game has been designed and assets created. It mostly comes down to just putting it all together now, which the tooling will expedite.  Plus it does not take into account all the stuff that has been done up until now!

The Demo

Last month we announced a demo that would be playable in time for Halloween. It was close, but ultimately we decided it needed a bit more time on the easel. We feel we really only have one shot to impress with this, so we want to make sure the demo is as cool as it can be. That said , we are also going to extend the demo to include more content. As for when to expect it, it could be the next few weeks or next few months. We are carefully weighing the options for when to release it and will keep you updated.

Thanks for reading. Hope to see you in the next one!

It's

Funny, I was thinking of this game just the other day, I was wondering what came of it. Good luck with the demo and I look forward to seeing how much you added!

Thank you! It has been a while... Glad to hear the game was on your thoughts after all this time.
